Larissa Barbaro-Kukade, PhD, LP

Licensed Psychologist

I believe that the path to healing requires a safe, and trusting relationship between client and therapist. As a psychologist, my main goal is create a warm and welcoming space for clients to feel heard, understood, respected, and safe. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them better understand themselves and the challenges they have faced, improve interpersonal relationships, and promote healing. My approach to therapy is integrative, and client-centered; meeting my clients where they are. We work together to reach their goals and find lasting change, fulfillment, and healing.

I have experience working with a wide variety of concerns and have particular expertise working with survivors of interpersonal trauma (i.e. relationship violence, sexual abuse/assault, childhood abuse and neglect); addiction/substance abuse; grief; chronic illnesses/conditions; and issues related to oppression.

I earned my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Albany, State University of New York.  I have worked with clients in diverse settings including college counseling centers, outpatient community mental health clinics, and outpatient addiction treatment centers.
