Club Recovery Welcomes Dr. Larissa Barbaro-Kukade!

Club Recovery is thrilled to welcome Dr. Larissa Barbaro-Kukade to the Club Recovery team. Larissa is stepping into the role of Post-Doctoral Fellow and within this role her focus will be conducting individual therapy and serving as the primary group therapist for one of our Continuing Care groups. She will also be a regular contributor to our blog, providing new information about addiction and mental health treatment, and updates about our services and team.

Originally from New Jersey, Larissa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cedar Crest College, a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Albany, SUNY. She has worked in numerous settings in the addiction and mental health treatment fields including community mental health, college counseling centers, an inpatient hospital, and outpatient addiction treatment.

Some of Larissa’s clinical specialties include working with individuals who have experienced the effects of trauma, grief, or addiction. She also has expertise working with clients who are struggling with identity development, life transitions, or mood or anxiety symptoms. Larissa takes a client-centered approach and is passionate about providing individualized care for each client by meeting each person where they are at. In her free time Larissa enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and spending time with her pets.

Larissa is a welcome addition to the Club Recovery team and her expertise as well as her deep commitment to client care helps the Club Recovery team pursue our larger mission, to ensure the provision of empathic, client-centered care for our clients with substance use disorders and mental health concerns. Please give us a call if you would like to set up an initial therapy appointment with Larissa or find out more about the services she offers.
