Meet Our Team

Kristi Anderson, BA

DOCTORAL INTERN

My focus is helping individuals understand and express their identity by getting to know the unique person, including their strengths and struggles. I find great value in the importance of understanding how environmental and systemic factors may influence behavior and affect individuals.

I am grounded in psychodynamic and client-centered theories and modalities, always incorporating what is true for everyone. My passions and training include the Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network, which addresses complex PTSD and dissociative abilities. I am also competent in Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) which addresses childhood trauma and the resulting symptoms of developmental immaturity and relationship dysfunction. I have experience cofacilitating Trauma Skills groups and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) groups.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults. Some of my areas of interest include working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief, codependency, childhood abuse and neglect, and other relational problems. I am particularly fond of working with youth and adolescents who are striving toward adulthood. I have specific training working with teens who have displayed aggressive behaviors and/or behaviors that have impeded the rights of others. I strive to approach this therapy work with a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach in order to explore both a teen’s autonomy and boundaries.

I am currently earning my doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.  I have worked with clients in diverse settings including youth correctional settings and outpatient community mental health clinics. I also hold a seat on the Minnesota Psychological Association (MPA) Ethics Committee.
